Admit it.

We all have a list of books that we'll tackle "some day." Well . . . some day is here.

Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross commemorate Jesus' walk to the cross. Each of the stations marks an event mentioned in at least one of the gospels.

Most (if not all) Roman Catholic and Episcopal/Church of England churches will feature the stations of the cross. They are usually posted at regular intervals along the walls--worshipers can visit each station as a symbolic pilgrimage.

In the tenth station, Jesus is stripped of his garments. In Ulysses, Buck Mulligan references this when he says, "Mulligan is stripped of his garments."
