This is a perfect example as to why Ole Jimmy Joyce is the best there is. What is he saying here? I think it has something to do with the human need to communicate, to share secrets and bring everything to light. To not hide, and by hiding feel disconnected from the world. That he relates this by seeing it in himself in common with this little milksop of a boy says something about the honesty of his prose.
